Our Story
Miles Beyond Independent Living began with a simple belief: that everyone deserves a second chance—and a safe place to restart. Founded by a group of passionate advocates, social workers, and formerly justice-involved individuals, Miles Beyond Independent Living was built to bridge the gap between reentry and rebuilding. We saw the need for more than just housing—we saw a need for connection, purpose, and dignity. Over time, our home has welcomed veterans finding a new mission, older adults seeking community, and survivors of domestic violence ready to reclaim their power. Every resident brings their own story—and leaves with a new chapter of growth, healing, and hope. We are more than a roof over your head. We are a community that sees who you are, believes in who you can become, and walks every mile with you—beyond the past and toward the life you deserve.
Our Mission
Miles Beyond Independent Living exists to empower individuals—especially those navigating reentry, recovery, and renewal—with safe housing, compassionate support, and the tools to thrive. We are committed to fostering dignity, emotional wellness, and community connection through person-centered care and culturally responsive engagement. Every mile forward is walked together, beyond the past and toward a life of purpose, healing, and hope.
Vision
To create a world where every individual—regardless of their past—has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, supportive, and empowering community. We envision a future where healing is nurtured through dignity, independence is celebrated through connection, and every mile forward is walked together with compassion and purpose.
